Hi beautiful community,
Happy Taurus season! This is a time of new energy and renewal, luxuriating in health promoting routines and self cultivation. Our bodies are transmuting and moving immense amounts of both new and old energy. We are in the elemental season of Wood in the Liver Gallbladder meridian. This is a season to let it all go, lay the old story to rest, transmute experience into wisdom, shed the layers of excess that no longer serve, and renew our vital stores. Nourishment, movement, and gentle purification techniques will guide us through this alchemical healing process of clearing the way for the new.
We are blossoming in beautiful ways and have an opportunity to invite deeper intention into our lives. Spring cleaning yes… but also deep vibrational cleansing, healing, releasing, and fueling our bodies with what we truly need, moving in ways that feel good, and allowing ourselves to fully relax into the flow of life in accordance with our natural energy and rhythm. Living true to our inner way. Aligning to the flow of the seasons and movement of energy through our being.
On the path of self cultivation, we align to the natural flow of chi in our bodies and surrender to the movement of energy through the seasons and cosmos. Self cultivation brings true health and vitality as we align to our energy, live from our true nature, and honor our natural energy. Living in alignment with the seasons and the movement of the celestial bodies, we synchronize with the cyclical patterns of nature through the elements and the seasons.
When we practice self cultivation, we respond to life from a grounded place of compassion, taking action appropriately attuned to the natural flow of chi, the energy available to us through the universal way of yin and yang and the five phases of evolution through the elements. The path of self cultivation is the highest form of self love, supporting us in living our true nature, thus living out our highest service in the world. When we follow universal law and honor the way things are, we are able to accept the constant changes in life and surrender to the wisdom of Heaven and Earth.
Often when Spring arrives, we feel excited by the new light coming in and the embrace of the Sun, but tend to experience stagnation. We may mentally feel ready to move forward but feel held back by unprocessed emotions and physical density. Perhaps experiencing a breakout of acne that was once long gone, digestive distress, immune imbalance, and water retention. This is when a gentle shift to support the liver, gallbladder, and lymphatic system can be incredibly supportive.
When we create space for the natural intelligence of the body to move energy without obstruction, we create the conditions for health and vitality.
With the support of gentle chi moving practices, nutritional shifts, herbs, and movement, we can restore our natural energy and connect to our inner rhythm.
Personally I’ve been enhancing my movement with longer walks and strength training, meridian tapping, Reiki, healing somatic breathwork, herbal infusions, ancestral nutrition, time in nature as much as possible, and abdominal massage.
We are all deeply cyclical beings in our own unique ways. I believe we all have the capacity for self healing and true health when we tune in to our own natural cycles of energy in alignment with the seasons, elements, and body wisdom.

DIGESTIVE RESET
Take this time as an opportunity to master your health and digestion, enhancing your vitality for longevity, resilience, and flexibility. A gentle cleanse with aligned nutrition, herbs, acupuncture, Reiki, self massage, colonics could be incredibly supportive to move energy and stagnation out of the digestive tract for a greater lightness of being. Minimizing dairy, gluten, grains, sugars, processed foods, alcohol, sugar alcohols, and refined carbohydrates will help the body move energy. We want to keep the energy moving and flowing in alignment with your natural rhythms. Always consult with a professional before trying anything new…
Herbs for digestive detox: Triphala, Wormwood, Sea 7 Flush
Herbs for digestive aid: Slippery Elm, Marshmallow, Calendula, Tulsi, Ginger
Herbs for the liver and gallbladder: Milk Thistle, Dandelion Root, Artichoke, Gentian, the classic lemon water with the juice of a whole lemon, basic I know but it works…
Supplements for better digestion: L-glutamine, Bovine collagen, Digest Gold, Bitters
Breathwork, meditation, deep sleep, and grounding improve digestion.
LYMPHATIC DEBLOAT
The lymph can stagnate when the liver and gallbladder are not moving energy properly. A sluggish lymph may cause acne, skin irritation, breakouts, water retention, bloating, immune deficit, indigestion, exhaustion, and general listlessness. Movement, sauna, infrared sauna, and stretching are great ways to move the lymph. Herbal infusions are a potent yet gentle way to decongest lymph stagnation and bring more flow to the body. Try an overnight infusion for two weeks straight, drinking the infusion throughout the day.
Herbs for the lymph: Burdock, Cleavers, Red Clover, Calendula, Red Root, Dandelion
Practices for supporting the lymph: Dry brushing on body. This is the brush I use. Gua Sha on face and body. This is the body tool and this is the face tool.
Abdominal Massage
I’ve been practicing abdominal massage for years now, especially in the spring and autumn. Using castor oil for the massage and following the treatment with a castor oil pack has been incredibly helpful in reducing bloating, releasing the lymph, and bringing me back to my center, back to the body, back to the breath. I often weave abdominal unwinding massage into my Reiki healing sessions to release stagnation from the womb and belly region. For beginning at home, start with circular motions clockwise and down the backside around the kidneys.
REFINED NOURISHMENT
With more light comes more energy, and naturally our way of eating shifts as the wheel of the elements and seasons moves. Incorporating more greens, bitters, fermented foods, and mineral rich herbs enhances our digestive function, enzyme production, and energy levels. With more energy we live more active lifestyles. With that comes the need for intentional nourishment with healthy fats, protein, and carbs. If you’re craving more meat, lean into that.
If you’re craving more fruit, lean into that. Nose to tail eating, incorporating organ meats like heart and liver, bone broth, and marrow ensures a wide range of minerals and nutrients that the body can digest.
I deeply believe in ancestral primal nutrition, and passionately eat what someone might call a primal diet, and have for many years. I encourage you to choose a way of eating that works for you and listen to your cravings, allowing yourself to eat what the body wants and honor your natural cellular intelligence. It’s also very healing to eat at the same time every day and not too late, perhaps intermittently fasting wisely as a tool for nourishing your metabolism.
Herbs for deep nourishment: Nettles, Chickweed, Raspberrry leaf, Oatstraw. Rosehips.
Nourishing foods for Spring: Lamb, beef, and cod liver. Sesame seeds. Bone broth. Bee pollen. Dandelion Greens. Chlorella. Grapefruit. Turmeric.
Here is some of the nourishment I’ve enjoyed lately…

ENHANCING MOVEMENT
My particular Human Design requires a lot of movement… I have a yang body and three full channels from the Root center and Sacral activations that indicate a major need for action. Not all of us need the same level of exercise but regular movement is incredibly important for everyone. Challenging the cardiovascular system, getting your heart rate up, breaking a sweat several times a week, training your muscles, and conditioning with walking and deep stretching is vital for processing emotions, clearing stagnation, connecting to life force, and embodying your power.
With the spring, incorporate a wide variety of movements, walking more… up your movement in any way that feels fun. Even tasks like cleaning, decluttering, organizing are movement. Try walking, dancing, swimming, mini trampoline, and yin yoga.
Hydration is key in aiding the body’s adjustment to enhanced movement and the Wood element season. Try a hibiscus cold infusion to hydrate the mucous membranes of the body, eat plenty of healthy fats, enjoy fresh fruits, drink loads of fresh spring water with lemon, a pinch of sea salt, and raw honey.
With all of this, as you bring new habits into your life for the spring and refine your routines, ask yourself…
Does this make me feel powerful? Grounded? Strong? Connected to my true self?
Does this serve the person I’m becoming?
What does my heart have to say about all of it?
What are the messages from within that are wanting to be heard when it comes to my health?
Listen, honor the sacred body wisdom, and tune in to your needs. Perhaps write a list of what’s in and what’s out. A classic IN / OUT list can be so healing.
I hope this transmission inspires you to refresh your Springtime wellness and connect to your body in an elevated way. If you have any questions, thoughts, comments, I would love to hear.
